Spray job looks really awesome. That would of been a much easyer option then building my own wooden board, now i just need a cool wagon like yours and actually learn to surf : P

Al- Your board looks great! I would love to learn how to surf, but the waves we get come from the wheat fields......

But you went three pages into a surf board rant when you did? People post on these (5 pages worth) for one of two reasons: bored at work or getting that "you haven't posted in a while" message off the top of your screen.

There is so much more to see on this site than almost any other hot rod site ever. I can't see why you'd let this kind of silliness steer you away. There have been twenty awesome posts from the last hour alone. This one is just having fun and killing time.

    Very sweet Avatar pic btw.

Before you get too cool and rebel than the rest of us, figure in the cost of joining this board vs. the small courtesy of adhering to the founder's simple request. Beat it grom.

Whats the big deal about a surfboard? OK Its in the middle of the U.S.A, where surf is not known. But read this board and you'll see stuff like "where can I buy fake patina?" Pie crust slicks, fake lakes pipes, phony competition numbers on fake lakes racers etc.

And you will see the same guys ragging on that stuff that you see ragging on this guy. Am I missing something here?

  15. In my humble opinion, the best surfboard for your ride is an old, well used one. But hey, if you're going for a look, more power to you. It's not 1948, despite how many people's cars "look".

I'm with you on the old board, but this was more as an excersize in airbrush art. We took a broken-down, used-up board (that would not have fit looks-wise as is) and gave it new life as a cool wall accessory that goes well with the car, so it can be displayed. The other board, which is a 8.5 or 9' softtop, is going to get turned into a bench with folding legs to sit on when we are hanging out at the cruise nights and drag strip. One man's form is another man's function. Once that is done, I will post some more pics here, but I am sure some goofball will call me a poser for turning a busted surfboard into a chair.........

By the way, this pic came from the surf shop where I bought my boards at OB. The guy at the shop, who was a true surfer, loved the idea that I was saving an old board instead it getting tossed. He was a cool dude. At another shop I visited, I met one of those douchebag surfers, the kind that sneers at people who he doesn't think "belong" in his shop. I didn't buy anything from him.

The HAMB is a effing traditional HOT ROD site! You want all sorts of attention from us for turning surfboards into car art? Congratulations, you can re-purpose a surfboard. GREAT! F - me. You may not be a poser, but you sure are mixed up about where to post what. Oh yeah, I live in So Cal, I have a woodie, I surf. I still think it's Ghey to drive around with a board on the roof if you're not going to or from surfing.

Hey fellas... this isn't a site for drama... If you would rather talk shit than old cars, go somewhere else.
