I'm just wondering if there are any major differences between the 1949 and 1950 Merc coupes. If so, what are these differences? Thanks in advance.
The grill, the dash, the rear window, side markers, hood and trunk trim, hubcaps, and the rear bumperguard bar. I did a whole deal on the differences, with pic's, on the HAMB Merc Club thread, but it will take you a few hours to go through it,hahaha!
Thanks. I'm going through that thread, but does anyone have maybe a list of the differences with pictures?
I can post some pic's on this thread for you,but you'll have to wait til tomorrow, cause i'll have to put together the pic's. I have 1000's of Merc pic's!
That would be great. They are some great cars and I would like to learn as much about them as possible. Oh and are there many differences between 39 and 40 Merc coupes?

Just do a google search for: 1951 Mercury photos and then do a search for 1949 Mercury photos. The do a search for 1950 Mercury photos. It would take lots of photos and time to post photos of all the differences. if you can, go to an AACA car show and see the differences up close and personal. Also take plenty of photos.

Some differences between a 39 and 40 Mercury: 39 has no vent windows in doors, 40 does have 39 has grooved bumpers, 40 has smooth ones 39 has straight grill bars, 40 has bent ones 39 has wide 5 wheels (36-39 Ford), 40 has 5,5x5. 39 has different dash than a 40 has 39 has buttugly taillights, 40 has beautiful ones 39 has floorshift, 40 has colomn shift Probably forget some, but these are the easy to identify items.
