man thats some show car terrific paint work going on there , sorry to hear about the roof , but the rest looks awesome cant wait to see it all painted ,
Those tailgates look so much better without the big wart in the middle of them. The car is looking great Nads. Good luck on the roof, you'll get it sorted out. We have faith in ya!
Beautiful Nads ! I love the contrast between the painted surface and the un-sanded mud below the fins
...at least you can admit it, they says that's the first step. Really like what I'm seeing on the dash in particular. The outside is going to be pretty mundane, so it will give people something to look at through the windshield Really cool approach!
Too bad there are lots of butchers who don't know any better, or are just too lazy to do it the right way
Wow man, your really moving along on this thing I had no idea u were this close to having it finished. Aneyways it's looking awesome man.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dont know if you've resolved the issue of how to finish the centre of your grille, but how about a trim piece something like the one in this link? Not that you want to buy this one, not exactly cheap!! Just using it to illustrate the idea http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mopa...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4cf3c65cd9 I've wanted a 59 El Camino since i first saw one as a 6 year old. Apparently i told my father "I'd give my left nut for that....!" The offer is on the table for when you've finished building this one. What do you think, an extra left teste could come in handy. Cheers Bret
Any progress pics? Hope all is well Nads. I'm gonna be coming out your way at the end of the month. I'd like to stop by and say hello.
Paint on roof done, finally, it's not color sanded out or buffed yet. Crappy cell phone pics, my camera's out of memory
I pulled a piece 2'x3' 3" thick out of a quarter of a 29 dodge. The whole car was like that minimum on the car was 1/4" thick!
wow, outline, double outline, and patterned too? talkin about the scallops. what did you use for those patterns? Gotta say it, i liked it b4, but this is far better.
This was found in a junkyard about 20 years ago. (Delray Beach, FL) The manager said it was from a TV series with Bixby. (Magician) Note: He used a white Corvette in the show. I did some research with Harrah's and Paramont but was told it was never used in any show or movie. It is NOT fiberglass, it is made up of Bondo, 6 inches thick in spots. The junkyard has moved twice since I took these images and do NOT know where the car ended up.
