A local Cruise night that is put on by a group called the Niftee 50's.
The family went out on mothers day to check out the show which is only
a couple of miles from the house and happens every sat through the summer.
It always has a great mix of cars that show up. I don't think it has shown up here on the HAMB before.
    Thought I'd post about it.

This is a great get together all Summer long. There are the regulars and club members that are always there but newbies are made welcome. On any Saturday night there are about 300 cars ranging from trashy Rat Rods to real Cobras. The local Kroger grocery store donates most of their parking lot and the music is provided by Nifty 50s. Fast food joints along the street and a pretty good Chinese restaurant keep the hunger down.

If you want to have a fun, cheap evening with the family you can't beat a free car show like this. Bring a cooler and lawn chair and enjoy.

  8. Its not free they ask for a $5.00 donation to pay for the insurance and for the cops.

Hey Bruce. Long time no see. Ha Ha.

Just to clarify - guys with cars are asked to pay a Lincoln to park? Guys like me who roll up in a daily driver and park next to to Mexican place can walk on through at no charge?

If so, it seems sorta ass-backwards. I had no idea.

If a commoner like myself wanted pay the 5 bucks to walk around and enjoy, how would I do that? It's way more than 5 dollars of enjoyment.

It's a donation. I've never paid while driving in but I've "almost" always given them a fiver at the table.

It's a very positive get together and a place you can bring your kids. It's a good time and you will see stuff out there you don't typically see at your typical hot rod show these days.

  11. Mark Only people with cars pay no cost to those who come to see I think it is nice for those that donate to the cause

As a reminder this is going on tonight if you are in the North Houston area. No I am not associated with the group that puts this on.
