    Hey Walt,

The lamps with pistons as lights get a 20 watt "undercounter" puck type of quartz light. you can upgrade to a 25 watt bulb, but 30 watts gets too hot for the metal piston. The big Jacobs Radial lamp gets a 50 watt quartz light with a dimmer. Others have a 40 watt quartz in a "scoop" type shade, with dimmers too.

I think the 20 watt lamps give off a nice light. it won't flood your desk with other overhead lights on but it works pretty well. The 40-50 watt ones need dimmers cause they can be too bright.

I have some on the bench now with regular 40 watt hid bulbs and they are bright. The bulb is a regular screw-in type in an intermediate base.

Wow, that's actually very reasonable for an original piece of functioning artwork! Unfortunately the wife's got me on a pretty tight budget these days and artwork doesn't factor in, functional or not

A boat shaped toy chest I built for my son a few christmases ago. Mostly out of all old wood from other projects. I like it, he lves it, and we always get compliments from any that comes over to our house. Might not be garage work, but it was built in a garage.

I built something like that out of an O/T steering column and a flywheel. Love it!

HPIM4627 (Small).JPG HPIM4653 (Small).JPG HPIM4708 (Small).JPG HPIM4709 (Small).JPG photo.jpg Here are some pics of a stand that i made for a friend to hang a bell from. He got the bell from a decomissioned ship he served on in the Navy.

I designed the base and had it water jetted, the stand is a model A torque tube. Had some aluminum foot pads made and it was powder coated blue vane. A finished pic of it in his house in up state New York.
