Snapped a couple of nudes. Finished up cleaning up the body yesterday. Used the 3m purple discs and a twisted wire cup on a 4 1/2 inch grinder and 3" and 2" black strip-it roloc discs on small angle grinders.
He's got the new "roto-plate" - so the cops can't read your license number when you're wailing through town at WOT with the headers open.

ya that license plate was trippin me out for a second before i realized what was happening. how long it take you to strip it down? i was strippin my 55 chevy pickup today with what you call a wire cup for the 4.5 angle grinder. i think its called a rosery wheel? and it was workin great but my harbor freight angle grinder kept heating up on me. i think ill get another one so i can alternate the two.
Did most of it with these, http://www.shop3m.com/61500187564.html I used the wire brush to get the paint and ust out of the grooves and boddy lines. If I put all of the time together including the doors and gas tank it probaly took 8-10 hrs.
It is behind the seat. I made up a holder from 3/4 square tubing. Originally it was completely enclosed but the tank expanded, should have read the directions closer, and I have since cut the front off and installed straps to hold it in. The tank was warping from being confined in the holder. This s a picture of the holder. It bolts to the floor and body seams in the rear. This is a crappy picture with the tank in through the back window.
The plate looks crystal clear to me ! ! ! Pour me another Shot of Lacquer Thinner, eah ! Nice Body. I guess that I also like NUDE cars !! VR&C.

Thought I would post one after the primer was applied. I was having some trouble blending form pass to pass. It has been a while since I have sprayed primer from a gun. I plan on tackling the body work a section at a time so that it is not off of the road for too long.
