Event Coverage Waaaayy too many pics of 2011 Vintage Torque Fest

Part 1

Wow, what can I saw about our very own coolstuff's (John Well's) Vintage Torque Fest? Great show about sums it up.

4:30am came early on Friday, I'm not a morning person but I was on a mission! The forecast was for rain on Saturday but since the show started at noon on Friday I planned on getting there and getting some shots in of all the folks that showed up Friday. 600 miles between me and Vintage Torque Fest at the Jackson County Fairgrounds in Maquoketa, Iowa. Friday's drive was no time for enjoying my travel like normal, it was 80mph for 9 hours... and it was sooooo worth it!

There was a good turn out on Friday, ton's of cool cars and some of my favorite folks showed up.

The indoor area had a great selection of special show cars. Voodoo Larry had a couple of creations on display, as well as the Weesner inspired Emerald Tide & Lit Up (under construction), a sweet belly tank car, Jake Moomey's beautiful 54 Chevy (that he actually took on the dirt track!!!), the KKOA's 777 award winning Phoenix from Jack Walker's collection and so many more!

YEs - people - support this guy - he goes from town to town and this is an expensive hobby - I cant imagine how much $$$ you spent on gas alone Travis!
I hope people will support him and buy a photo of the event so he can keep on keepin' on!

 

Thanks John, I really appreciate the support brother. Last year I drove 7500 miles to shoot car shows, and flew to Viva . I do this all so people can see what different shows are about, see what you missed by not going and know why you should hit the show next year. Pictures # 224, 225 are of the car on the cover of the Nov 2010 Hot Rod mag, right? Brad Roorda. Also some pics of it on the track. Now before everybody says "Duh" please cut me some slack. That was the first Hot Rod mag I bought in probably 10 years....

Yes - Brad was on the cover of Hot Rod magazine - I saw many people walking around with that issue in hopes of getting it autographed.
I think his handlers made the people stay at least 5 feet away while giving the autographs
