After building hot rods for 33 years my next project is going to be a stock resto-this truck sealed it. Possibly a Dodge 66-68 cabover as what was on "Gearz"
---------------------------------------- You wrote " She is sexy." Yep! She sure is 'sexy'! Very cool!! I love the fact that it's still got a Y-block V8 in it. Adding the rams-horn manifolds and duals will make it even cooler too! What's it got for a tranny - a 4 or a 5-spd? Another thought too. When (not if the price of gas gets even more ridiculous than it is already and goes totally through the roof! GRRR!), your 'big girl' would be a natural for a 'diesel and a 5 or 6 spd/w od' swap. As I've been thinking about a similar project for about 10 years and it's good to see someone tackle the idea. This one is just about perfect for what I've got in mind and could easily be the canvas for my dream example. So, with the formula in mind that has led to so many successful hot rod projects I see no reasons to deviate from it. That formula would be use a Chevy drivetrain and adapt it to a Ford chassis. Can you imagine a nice crate 572 injected BBC with a 4l80E Automatic doing it's job of shredding 4 massive truck tires while moving a custom 20-30 ft 5th wheel camping trailer/car hauler with a couple of hot rods and a Harley in the back. Be still my heart!! Frank
I am waiting for my Cast heades to come back from powder coating. She will either get driven, or be up for sale. I am working on a f100 for ECTA standing mile, and building a BAJA 1000 f100 pre-runner for next years race. My Fairlane is almost done with paint, the 1964 glaxie is painted, waiting for chrome to come back. I am such a truck guy. In my next life I will like cars. I hate working on cars.
As all my friends know , I like big girls to !!!!!!!!!!! oh , and really nice truck also. Cadillac Dave
wow, jason. very cool. not sure how i missed this the first time around. i'd love to have a car hauler trailer for it, and roam the country looking for cool stuff to bring home and hoard. good thing i dont own it...
