I grew up in Norwalk,Ca. I was born in 56 and to think that this was going on when I was still in the crib is pretty amazing. Lived there for 24 years.
I'm thinking I need a Coachmans Norwalk car club plaque now. The search starts now!!

Anyone knows about the car at 2:55. Seems to be a '55 chevy roof? It looks amazing!

You need to PM your Dutch neighbour on here, Rikster. He is the Oracle of all things Kustom.

Beautiful, thanks for putting that together.
I couldn't help notice how many 'custom' cars there were and thought about all the loving labor that goes into the making of one. I then thought about what was being made today. I don't think we hold a candle to those guys! Think about it.

    Thanks for making this available.

My biggest pet peeve with the KUSTOM KULTURE adherents is the impression they often leave that everything back in the day was about tail draggers, fender skirts, and triple-outlet lakes pipes. Nothing could be further than the truth, at least on the west coast and those other parts of the country that embraced the west coast style of cars .... and this video tends to demonstrate that.

Thanks for the intel. As I've posted on your blog, you seem to have a bunch of historic material.

@Krinpfink Thanks for the info! And thanks for editing the video. I've watched it 3 times this weekend.

Hi folks, I have resurrected this thread from the dead because the bastards at Vidler deleted footage. Go back to the original post and see it's now available on you tube!
