I picked up a jones, and it's a little too narrow for my dads 27 roadster, and i dont think there is a practical way to put model a bells diff and stuff on it either because of the pinion support So where can a get a wider live axle?
What diameter and axle width do you need? Tapered and keyed or splined? I've got one tucked away some where - I'll measure it up (I think it's a 44-1, 2" diameter, tapered and keyed axle but will confirm). Steve
Before you get carried away with this rear axle remember this rear end uses a straight solid axle, meaning there is no differential action and both tires turn together. This is a race car part not meant to be used on the street. The use of a solid axle on the road makes parking or slow cornering a challenge add a little rain on the road and you have a new thrill in your driving adventure. If this is a midget design most likely there is not an axle made wide enough to use so it might be a good idea looking for other choices.
