Just bought a 261 Chevy inline 6 cylinder engine from a '62 truck and a T5 tranny from a '85 S10. Plan to rebuild the 261. Was told the tranny worked fine when removed. I'll find out soon enough. I plan to install the engine and tranny in my '55 1st series Chevy truck. I am planning to convert the truck to 12 volt. I already have dual Rochester carbs and a Fenton intake and exhaust manifolds. I want this truck to be a fun daily driver. One that I can jump into and drive most anywhere. Any suggestions for the engine rebuild.
