Faye goes from "nice girl" to HARLOT!

Today was the big day!

We mocked up the new front end and put the wheels back on to get Faye out of the garage and check out her new stance. What a DIFFERENCE!

There's still lots of stuff to be done, but getting to see some payoff today was a HUGE treat. The lowering was accomplished with 2" lowering blocks in the rear and 2" dropped spindles on the front. We still have about 200 lbs of stuff to put back in the front, so she'll sit a tad lower than she does now.

I can REACH THE ROOF! WOOOO!






Here's what we've got under the hood now. Lots of work remains like painting the firewall, finishing the welding on the hats, and putting the radiator back in, but it's nice to see eveything sitting where it belongs.

 

She's Faye Ray now, Nice!

 

That is the new heart... the PERFECT engine.

For whatever reason, I never saw the car before - nice! Very cool, sano and tastey. And seeing the dual intake and exhaust made me grin... Good work, Action Girl! (hey, that IS fun to say) I gave this same treatment to a '50 sedan many years ago, and never got it out of my system - I'll always dig these cars.....

Action Girl...nice five-one there; I grew up w/ these Chevs and will always like em. I've got two 52 two doors that I will get to eventually; yours gives me some inspiration, good luck with it.

 

I'm doing smithy's... I'm not sure about the ends, maybe just some chrome tips.

Nice rack you've got there, is it power or manual?
Did you side mount the motor?
Have you tried to re-install the heater yet?

Our target completion date is May 22nd for the Jalopy Showdown. For those of you that have asked about the engine, it's a 235 out of a 1959 Chevy.
