Looks nice Mike...I always wondered who this was after seeing these posts. It was nice meeting you at COBO.

Well, finally got all the pieces put back together for the spring. (whenever it decides to show up here in MI).

Fenders are originals from the HAMB's Roadstar, picked up when I had a little extra coin last year. They aren't perfect, but a ton nicer than the ones on the car. The original ones from the car can be a future project for me for some additional advanced metal repair!;)

The body was cleaned up with CLR applied and scotchbrite pads. The idea was to remove as much of the surface rust as possible without removing any of the original paint. It worked relatively well, but involved several night of serious scrubbin'. Then I followed it up with some flat clear to seal it tight.

Also did some work on the steering trying to reduce leakage and improve steering response!

Pics were taken with my crummy camera phone again - so forgive the crappy resolution.

Wow, looks awesome! Can't believe how different the car looks - from rust to black with patina. Very refined with the clean fenders and bumpers, nice call.

    Best wishes,

After all these years,I am still amazed at what steel wheels and big 'n little tires will do for an old car. It looks great !!

Looks pretty cool preserved like that, been toying with that idea on mine. Who knows...

When I get my carb freed up, I'm going to try and get the banger running too. I'm dying to try the thing!

    Cheers, Eddie
