The 2011 Lone Star Roundup was fantastic! It was great meeting lots of people in real life that I met on line here. Here is the start of my event coverage images. I am a CPA in real life, so I have been swamped since getting back. So it will take a while to go through all my pictures and process the worthy ones. In the mean time, there are a ton of really great shots out there by others. There are a lot more coming

Wow I can't wait to see all of these. The pic of Reggie's '36 Cabriolet inside his shop is my favorite so far. stellar stuff. Thanks for coming to the show.

Are your photos processed using the HDR (high dynamic range) technique?

Many of them are. If you check these out on my website, there is data under each image that tells if HDR was used or not. http://www.pbase.com/dlgphoto/lonestar2011

  22. WOW!!!
    Dan,
You say that you are a CPA......somehow that converts to a really good photographer:D!!!!

Now how do you "get rid of the people" in the background, since there were thousands of them hanging around the cars???

Thanks a bunch for sharing, hope to meet ya next time around!

Thanks Skotz. Actually neither the CPA thing or the Photo thing are my full time gig - computer programming is. I keep doing taxes mainly to complicate my life and make it hard to get away to go to LSR.

As for the people - I just pay everyone to get out of the way every time I take a pictured :) Most of the time, I just scope out the shot and then wait till I get a good chance to take it. One of the many reasons I do not get nearly as many shots, but then again, I am not trying for coverage, but to find shots that can be treated artistically.

Nice stuff Dan. That's the first I have seen of the sectioned Olds. My shots of it weren't very good due to the mottled shadows from that tree...also, I only took two shots. Live and learn.
