What Happened to Honesty??? Hamb Members Please read

A few thoughts:

1) "Fast, good, cheap. Pick two."
Since he obviously isn't doing it in a reasonable amount of time, is he at least doing good quality? And is the price on the low end?
If you're paying a premium the job better be damn nice and should have been completed long time ago.

2) You can be a body/paint man or you can be a businessman. Extremely rare to find a businessman that can squirt a good paint job and even more rare to find a painter that is a good businessman.

3) If you're confidant the vehicle has a legible VIN and you have paperwork to prove ownership you can report it as stolen and inform the authorities where it sits. If the painter doesn't have a written contract with you showing the work to be done and the amount to be paid he'll definately have some explaining to do. Might be running an unlicensed business. Maybe EPA would like to see his shop. If he has anyone helping him the IRS would probably like to see how those guys get paid. And if he isn't protecting his workers OHSA can pay him a visit.

These are all dirty things to do, but he started it. He's playing tough with you, time for you to get tough with him.
