Yea car is finally out of the snow pile ..ive been working on my roadster but this week end is dedicated to the 56 new fuel cell and i need to check why the drivers wheel cylinder is leaking its brand new so who knows what ill find ....
so true. the spring compressor gave me just enough to get them in there, if i wasn't running the spacers up top i don't know how i would've got it back together. thanks man! i'd trade some attitude for some shiney paint like your car in a heart beat though yeah me too, this is about were i wanted it to be all along. i used these rubber coil spacers.(except the $9.99 auto zone version) it rides almost the same, if anything a little softer. almost considering tossing a second set in for another inch. but prolly not cuz last saturday sucked & it's still fresh in my mind haha word, i redid all my drum brakes last year before i started driving it. when i took it out for a test drive the other day i was like "i need discs on this car". so it looks like i'll be grabbing that disc brake set up glassguy mentioned a few posts back this weekend. workin on getting this shitbox slightly more presentable for the boston world of wheels motorama april 1,2,&3. my club is doing a 6 car display...
looks good I wish you were closer so we could terrorize the streets we could raze some hell around hear.......love that 55....
Since your already sleeping. In the morning when I get up 3 hrs later than you have the avatar changed with the new wheels . Looks Cool
i got one thing to say Holy Shit !!!!!!!!!!!!! Man this 55 kicks Ass ive been looking for a mid 50's 2 door to build a lead sled out of but Fuck im finding a mid 50's car and build a gasser . thank you for sharing your build and keep up the great work and thank you for helping to convert me to the world of nose bleed gasser's although i could not afford a tri 5 Chevy i may look at Pontiac's or Oldsmobile's to start a build .
keep a look out on seats. Look for some out of 60's thunder bird or something or other non chevy gm and they might be cheaper. I actually grabbed some out of a corvair we parted out. They look very similar to chevelle seats but I guess are a inch or two wider when I researched them. They would look spot on in your car.
I read all 24 pages last night and this morning. Your car looks cool as is. I am glad that you want to continue it's evolution and eventually paint it. I like the idea of the white and red paint as opposed to your original flat black and red paint scheme. Those removable front ends sure are nice as you stated. My former drag car has a removable front clip and I work on the engine while sitting on the front tire. I can also completely understand not wanting to wrench on your hot rod after working on someone's daily all day. I hope someday you can build a 327 because once you do you'll love it for the shear power and revability. Oh BTW, I don't think your car is a s#!tbox . Perhaps you shouldn't call it that? It's sweet and I enjoyed the thread.
8FLEET9 I have always loved the front wheels and they are bad assed on your ride.... Have you looked at 63 or 64 Chevy Impala bucket seats , I like what you did to the front end lift. Anyway your'e still kickin butt , Enjoy....
8FLEET9 If you get a minute check out my profile album under interior to see the seats I'm taking about... I was trying to find a picture of my front wheels . I'll post it when I locate them....also look under the albums tab and you can enlarge the picture of my 55 to see the front wheels.... Good Luck to ya.....
