hey gal and guys, is this a stupid question? i want to run my stock 49 ford gauges and a modern auto meter gauge, can this be done on the same sensor?

i know if i add a switch i can go to one or the other, but can they both work at the same time? im going to have the modern ones hidden, i want to do this for the water temp, oil. i think i know the answer but it never hurts to ask. thanks in advance.

  2. Arent the stock ones mechanical? Not sure how youd splice into the lines to run two gauges.

    Yes
but you need a dual station sender, we use them in marine applications quite a bit. One gauge in the engine room and one on the bridge

  8. No. Your stock gauges have a different sender.

well how about just getting the original oil and water temp gauge redone to pick up on a modern sending unit? that would work right. its just to have a number, i feel better knowing what temp its running, then having just a simple hot cold gauge.

why not just mark the gauge for degrees?

well as far as the coolant temp goes you could always tap it for a second sender for the aftermarket gauge.
