This 39 is sitting in Escondido, Ca. Caretaker of the car said original owner needed to park it there years ago. Then the owner died about 12 years ago. He says he can't sell it cuz it's not his. But obviously the owner can't sell it either being that he is six feet deep. So here it's sits.[IMG]

If he can't find a relative, I believe he can apply for a lien title for abandoned vehicle/back storage fees. Shame to see it go to waste.

He doesn't say he can't sell it with regret, more like he doesn't want to deal with it. He really doesn't care if the car turns to dirt and doesn't seem to want anyone else to have it.

  14. You'll need a certified death certificate of the owner to get the title.

    This thread makes me sad.

Not old enough for the HAMB, but I've saved a couple.

My '71 F100 I took out of a farrier's yard and turned into my DD:

And my "new" one, a '65 Fury II that would have otherwise been parted out and crushed:

  17. Is that down by Bear Valley (Or I guess it's Via Rancho Parkway) and about Sunset Ave?

Used to be one just like it, or maybe it is that one, sitting in a side yard, belonged to the guy's deceased friend, couldn't bear to part with it, etc etc

Thought i would add a bunch from my weekend adventure this past Sunday. all of these are sitting and rotting.

The Pontiac was my neighbors' (now deceased) husband's daily driver since the day he bought it new. in 1965 he drove it into the field and there it sat. it's still sitting there...slowly returning to earth. if someone wants it; let me know. i could probably get it for you.

Now here is my woods find that started the entire weekend adventure. It was once a dodge sedan or truck and its now a doodlebug:

26Tudor, yep thats the one. It's a shame that people let cars go like that. I'm not a big fan of most four doors, but someone would love to have her.

nope. thats all thats there. theyre called 'doodlebugs". old farmers back in the day would cut up old cars and use them for farm, yard and woods work. would still be a really cool thing to fix up and rod it! Dont think any of its for sale. its a "private collection"....in reality theyre all just sitting there rotting to dirt.
