I put a 1/4 mile in an FED on my bucket list. Just one time and I'm good to go. Thanks for posting the video.
Wow, really enjoyed the vid. Made me step back and remember, all the posters on my bedroom walls, the talkin your dad into taking you to the strip (KCIR) back then. Great!!!
Great video! Too bad it's so short. The music sets the mood and you're soaking it all in and........... it's over. Guess I'll have to just play it over seven or eight times!
Lippy I looked at that and initially thought we love FEDs because we can hook up with a mouskateer? They are all pretty old ya know. Then I finished watching the vid. Good vid thanks.
Awesome !!! Does anyone have the clip Wide World of Sports use to use for thier intro with the FED dragster pulling a huge double wheelstand ???
Great Lippy, I think everyone should at least spend on weekend at Frank Hawleys drag racing school if you can't afford your own dragster. Its the best fun you can have with your clothes on!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then go out and get your own FED thats even better!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great vid Lippy!!! Those sketches sure looked familiar. When i was young I bet I coulda filled a dumptruck with all the digger drawings. Had the hot rod centerfolds stuck all over the bedroom wall too.
To answer LOWCAB's question: who was/is the guy with the feather on his helmet? Car name?, That was Long Beach California's Gary Gabelich, and I think the car was called "The Velvet Rocket". Gary also set a Land Speed Record of 622 mph in 1970 in a car called "The Blue Flame". He died too soon in a motorcycle accident.
Thanks Lippy! Great video. I love coming in from the shop after working on a fed and finding something like this.
