Love your coupe - best year of all for the Studie's. Here's another of the super rare 1936/37 Hupmobile coupes....

I agree about that year in vehicle design. My pick is the 37' Stude, as I have two....one a razorback 2 door sedan and the other is the Tribaker.....a Dictator roadster-pickup.

Here's my favorite '37 Chevy......Moody & Jones C/GS Indy Nationals champ......Of course I am kind of biased as this car lives about half a mile from my house.

Reading this thread brought back some high school memory's of the 37 Pontiac coupe that had the whole drive train from a totaled 65 Pontiac GTO Tri-Power car trans-planted in it. Looked stock for the most part on the outside...boy what a sleeper that one was.

The Dodge coupe of those years look good, I had a 38 Dodge coupe and it looked like it had a chop on it from the factory. Just looked a bit lower than the Chev/Ford rooflines IMHO. Still my fav and One more thing that I wish I had back.

  10. Would have to agree..:D

I really like those 37 Chevy gassers. 37 Coupe express is another one I really like. But if you throw in 38 too, the Ford Standard coupe would win hands down for me.

THis is exactly the reason why we shouldn't critique each others taste because if I was going to. I would tell you, you are freakin out of your mind.:D. That car is about as close to perfection out of the factory as it gets. But I'm from Miami Beach and we love Art Deco and all things beautiful.. Have you been to South Beach lately? ;)

  18. I think all the manufacturers were pretty much on their game during the 36-38 period, with 37 probably being the high point.

Here is my 37 Chevy Coupe Utility (Ute), actually my wife's car. All stock right now, plan to hot rod it before too long. It will be made for driving, not as gasser, nice and low with all the stock body pieces in place. Runs and drives like an old car, but is a lot of fun even as it is:

Picture of my 37 Ford Ute, which is my daily driver usually, but stripped the paint (bondo....) all off it and getting repainted right now; get rid of that awful blue color and repainting it silver. Has dropped axle, 289/C-4/9-inch and is a great driver:

YES - This fake fiberglass 3 window (which Ford didn't make) with patina faked to include rust holes and pieces of sheetmetal.

And Sorry but that thing posted in the first post, aside from not being a 37 anything, is horrible.

1937 was one of my favorite years for automobile styling...probably because aircraft-inspired Streamline design and art-deco details were evident. I think the GM cars in particular were cool. My dad had a '37 LaSalle.
Some of the 1937 American and European luxury coupes were especially beautiful....LaSalle, Cadillac,Lincoln, Packard... My overall favorite might be the Bugatti.

  26. Here's mine that I bought a year ago and just got running last weekend. It's 100% original, and I'm going tackle it once I finish my '34, but I'm going to keep it old school.
The hood was only removed for '1st test-drive' purposes.
