I want to shave the handles on my 58 apache. What kit is gonna be the most affordable and dependable? Also Ive never done this mod before so Im not real sure what it intels. Do you have to run power door locks or can the manual ones work?

I saw a pretty cool set up on Gearz this weekend. It wasnt completely shaved but a semi recessed chrome handle that popped up when pressed. Kinda old freezer door style. I liked it because I am kinda on the fence about shaving the handles on my 58.

I've had a couple drivers with shaved handles (one I did, one done by the previous owner). Would have to be something special before I'd shave handles again.

I saw that too, might work well for some cars, but $650.00 (chromed) is a lot of coin for a couplea door handles. Here is the info:

Another option Lincoln door buttons go to classifieds -parts for sale in the search put lincoln door buttons, logic industries remakes these and now offer recessed panels also they are alliance members and offer discount savings. We are installing on our 57 buick this summer.

I'm going to go to the salvage yard and look at trunk locks on import cars. A lot of imports have keyed trunk lock pushbuttons. That gives you your locking capability and a mechanical pushbutton door in one shot. Add in some door poppers, and I'll be there.

thanks guys! this helps! I never thought to look at old imports! I know the mid 80's BMW had that push button trunk lid.
