Reading this I have a lump in my throat. I only met John a couple of times at the Picnic , Kustom nats and to buy a few thing from him over the phone. He was always helpful, honest and polite and will be sadly missed.

Condolances to his family and friends and the whole scene.

    Wardy.

John had a big influence in opening my eye's to the world of Hot Rodding.

The Hot Rod world is a sadder place today.

    RIP John.

  18. Never forget rocking up an hour early for a shoot with his 40 Mercury custom for my pin ups calendar, and it was sitting there with the roof being put back on and stripped paint. He'd decided he'd redo the chop overnight to make it 'just right', finished welding it up that morning, then proceeded to re-spray the top half of the car as the photographer turned up. He and the boys putting all the trim back on over wet paint and rolling it into place for the shoot. Always so helpful and dedicated. He and the boys did so much to help me with my calendar, all for free and without fuss.

Always was and will be impressed.

    :( will be missed.

I would always try to catch up to chopper at the picnic (s) and shake his hand and say thanks, he always had time for quick chat.

I am really sorry to hear of his passing. My condolences to his family, and many friends.
Also condolences to carps I’m sure John appreciated the time you spent with him.

  26. Wow. This comes as a shock. Carps, I know you mentioned he wasn't well but I didn't realise it was that bad. :(

John and his shop, John's Rod & Custom, sounded like one of the coolest places around, so it was one of the first places I visited when I finally got to Melbourne for the first time.

Such a sad day, but at least we can take some comfort in that he is finally back with Tina.

    Deepest sympathy to the family.

    RIP.
