just bought a 64 tbird conv. with no drive train but found a good 351 winsor what will be involved in making the swap? Are aftermarket mount available to do this?
Sounds like a nightmare, they never came with anything but an FE/Cruiso. I happen to have a couple, including one from a '63 Bird, but you're a little far away- you should be able to find something out of a Bird or Galaxie locally
Should be no harder than any other engine swap. Build some mounts, hook stuff up, normal hot rodding fabrication. The 351 is smaller dimensions than a 390, should be lots of room. Remember that some 351's have a front sump, some rear, get the right one!
Small block fords in the Windsor family were being produced as early as 1962. I can't imagine it would be that hard to cross reference the engine mounts for a similar car of that era and see what you get. I would bet it would be REALLY close and involve minimal fabrication. Also, with the Windsor block (221-351W) you will need a matching transmission for that family. C4 and bell housing should be pretty easy to find. Even the exhaust would probably be fine with stock manifolds and just simply routing tubes. I'd be willing to bet 1964 Mustang parts would bolt right in.
