    Sadly, Tex was killed at that very track (Aquasco Speedway) a month or so after this photo was taken.

    Does anyone know when and where this is from? I know is Chrisman and Garlits. I would like to also know who won? The hemi headed Pontiac or Big Daddy?

    Here is a shot of the Chrisman car in pits. Location unknown? its interesting that Don Garlits car from my previous post does not appear to have a hemi, strange don't you think?

    1962 Garlits SWIV, 484 or 488 cu. in. 1962 Dodge 413 wedge, with .5 CSC crankshaft, stock bore=484, .30 overbore=488 cu. in.

    The flying body was taken by Steve Reyes. One of the best photographers out there.

  20. The NHRA fuel ban was on in '62. Garlits used the wedge on gasoline. As already stated, Jack Chrisman won in Mickey Thompson's Hemi Pontiac.

    Couldn't tell for sure, but looks like chevy engines, not Hills Pontiacs
