Claus Maluszczak's Holden Monaro pro stock. As this photo is from the top end at Adelaide I would guess that it was taken at the nationals where we first ran with the stripes on the car. The chassis was built by Ian Splatt ... Claus and I did the rest in a 1 1/2 car garage. The garage was long rather than wide so we would have to put the car up against one wall and work on one side and then push it outside and turn it around to access the other side. Sunny days .. push it out into the driveway and work there. Originally an all steel car with a new set of glass doors and front clip to go ..with..new paint for the nationals where it won best engineered.

- We saw you guys shakin' down the car on a few passes in this form, at night, at the Springnationals @ A.I.R. I remember not whether this was in competition or as exh. runs. I have a lil' voice telling me the car had contingency stickers - perhaps fitted after this shot?
I reckon that was the first appearance of the car there, it impressed the crowd- the cats in commentary introduced it. One beautiful race car, all superlatives apply, as the record shows.

p.s; Hey roo, shout someone an ice cream in trade for diggin' thru your shoeboxes to find a pic of the Legierski Falcon with your paint on it.

Also, this may push HAMB parameters too far- can you possibly sneek a shot of 'Hurk's Turk Delight ' mini F/C?. Direct flak at me, but that thing was coool lookin'!

I was the one with my name lettered on the car. The other wrench was my good friend Chuck Barr who went on tour with us in 69 or 70 and was at manhattan Ks when I drove the Corvair against Arfon's. Would that be you? The cars named Blue Hell were the early vettes and corvair, the vega's raced under the banner "Rapid Ronnie"

Anything you got with " Hurk the Turk " I would love to see. Caught up with him after running at the Nationals at Heathcote and straight after at the first Tailem Bend meet. Had a house down near the ports in Adelaide.
Stayed with John Hoskins and Bluey Maggot was kicking around as well as Chicken Cooper. Yea bike guys.

i was very good friends with Claus in the early days when he worked for Aunger speed shop .

He gave me a ride at Findon Skid Kids

i also knew his brother Henry who had a Hr Holden 350 sleeper and his sister Rita

my bro help Claus fit a 454 into Dom Marafioti's HQ 4 dr Monaro .

Does not go against it at all....matter of fact this has to be the largest archive of vintage Drag Photos on the planet and it becuse of good people like yourself contributing to it....as long as we keep it in the right eras possibly pre 68 we are going to keep growing....keep up the good work everyone.
