9" Pinion Support Bolt Circle Diameter Dimension

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Tudor, Mar 22, 2011.

  1. Does anyone know what the bolt circle diametere dimension is for the 5 bolts that hold the pinion support on a 9" third member? I've searched for it and can't seem to find it. I don't want to try and measure it because I am trying to do an ACAD drawing for a plate to attach to it.

From Top Going CW, I have a Solidworks Model of my Support I use in my FED's if you need.

    X -0.696 Y 2.790
    X 2.438 Y 1.524
    X 2.202 Y -1.848
    X -1.260 Y -2.584
    X -2.875 Y 0

    Hope this helps, Ken

  6. Ken, Thank you. I think my buddy Brado knows what to do with those numbers :D That's what I am after, making a plate to bolt there to center/align the crank on the pinion.

if your buddy knows what to do with those numbers, he can pop out a few more and weld a basket to it that reaches forward to become a driveshaft loop if people dont want one on the frame (or for a taller 4x4 scenario) they can be bought, but they're spendy...

Not high jacking the topic, but whilst we're at it, does anybody have the bolt circle diameter for the early Ford banjo rear ends?

If I drew this right, we're looking at a 5 3/4 bolt circle with some strange bolt spacing...not evenly spaced about the circle. Does that seem right? I don't have a rear end to check it.

My rearend froze off a couple months ago. :)

From what I've seen in pictures and from the .doc above, I don't believe they are evenly spaced. The bottom holes are just a little bit closer together. I think it's right though. I'll send you a scaled picture so you can print it and check it Josh.
