A friend and I went to go look at this truck today. Asking 3,500. I think its worth it, but we both no very little about these trucks. It has the flathead v8-test drive was good, everything works on it including the radio converted to 12volts. Let me know what you think.

Looks good, and if you like a '51 F2 I think that's a good price for it.

F1's are better looking with the short box and smaller front fenders, but...If it looks as good in person as it does in the pictures 3500 is a great price. A flatty and it drives, has all the trim and looks restored, buy it.

I have had a few of these trucks over the years and while the F-1's are more popular, a nice F-2 with a good running flathead is well worth the asking price.

Looks like a great find to me, I'd trade my daily driver for it in a heartbeat.

Running boards aren't original, bed isn't original as the raised panel was used throughout the F2 up through 1952. Rear axle doesn't appear original either, but if it's a swapped in Dana 60, then hopefully it has a more highway friendly gear ratio. Maybe pop off a hub cap and take a look to see if front and rear are converted to 5 lug (which might mean a Ford 9" is back there) . Other than that, it's a nice price.

These things would make me wonder what else is done to the truck, like maybe bondo?

    Here's another '51 F2:

If it is a solid runner, go for it. As it has been said, the wheels have to go. Just find a stock set, with the correct caps and rings, and it will be perfect.

I have to agree, if it runs good for that price, it's a deal.

  15. There is something weird looking about that truck....like it's out of proportion. Maybe it's just the wrong bed thing. It looks like it was built from leftover parts. I'd check it out really good....

It looks like it has a 53 or newer bed on it. I think the front half of the running boards may be original but extended with some other diamond tread or something similar.

I wonder if it had some kind of stake bed on it before and / or they put the newer bed on and tried to match up the rear fenders. I kinda think its cobbled together (the back half anyway). The rear fenders look like they're from a F-1 - they have a smaller wheel opening than the front fenders. It makes me wonder what it is like under the paint.

Just me but that's too much for something that looks cobbled together.

Even with all the questions pointed out above I think if it runs good it's worth the $3500. I'd check out the front fenders very carefully, I think I see some bubbling just above the front seam and the area where the running boards bolt to the front fenders, this are the trouble spots for these trucks. If there's a little rust showing there's probably more that's not showing.

I agree about the hubcaps/tires..very ugly. I also thought the rear of the truck looked alittle off. Thank you all for the comments about the truck both positive and negative. My buddy has decided to pass on the truck and is looking for something with more passenger room. I'm still undecided about buying it seeing I can't even find the time to finish my '49 Ford.

Looks like the rear axle/wheel sits too far forward......

That's how they looks stock. Every F-2/F-3 has the axle sitting what looks to be too forward, including mine.

  28. If it's as good as the pics make it look, the money is certainly right. ;)

id buy it if it ran and drove good. As long as nothing looks to hacked in person I think thats a good price.

  30. Why are the good deals so far away??
