Boy Howdy you are a mind reader.
I just moved my frame around in front of my garage last weekend to get started installing the front cross member and was pondering what to do for the step notch in the back. I am running leaf springs in the back an don't need a huge notch so that would be perfect.

As it sits today. The wheels are getting changed for steelies and white walls.

As low as I can get the back end now as there is one inch of clearance over the axle.

Help a brother get down from the nose bleed seats. 1 tons sit 18 1/2" from the rockers to the ground. Scott Danforth kit going in up front and an RBs for the rear but it just won't be low enough. Even with a BBC/TH440!

IF ITS FREE! ITS FOR ME! I need all and any help I can get!. Starting on the chassis now. This would be a very welcome part. The chassis that came with the truck was JUNK!(see photos) I found a replacement and a S10 rear. I also have a dropped axle for the front and a mounting kit for the rear(new springs & mounts, shock mounts,ect...) , but need to get it down lower to work with the front drop. I am further along with the chassis than the pictures show and I had planned to do this anyway, but this would save me some money for other things and move me ahead greatly!. Thanks Mel:D

Count me in! I am just about ready to start hacking on my truck and that notch would look nice on it.

    Adam,

Watch the S10 rear end if you don't intend to tub. The 4x2 is too narrow and the 4x4 is not right either depending on wheel offset. If you have the ZR2 you should be OK.

I had heard that the 4X4 was a good option. I will be ordering the wheels so I will have to get the offset right. Whats wrong with the 4x4 rear?

.....'54's probably ok but the '49 could certainly benefit.

Mine's on an S-10 frame and I have plenty of room to put the running boards on the ground if I want to. No need for the step notch but thank you for providing it tor the lucky winner.
