$1,000 wish list - what would you buy first?

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by flyinggoose, Feb 22, 2011.

  1. I'd invest it in a some stocks to create a retirement portfolio and turn it into $200 with some bad stocks then buy some used parts at the swap meet that I didn't need and nobody wants.
That way, I would be right back to my happy self.
Actually, I'd buy an interior for the Whips.

a quickchange from Spadaro's...well it's not enough but I would find the rest somewhere!

  6. The Chevelle would get it's long needed heater core and I would have the driver's seat reupholstered.
The model A would get a new red vinyl or leather interior.
The '32 would get painted ( waaay more than a grand).
And last would be the '36 for new headliner, door panels, carpeting and fixing a few cracks and waves around the roof and lower tail panel.
Well...........I'm thankful they all run exceptionally well but none are pretty.

Guess I need more that $1000.

Patch panels and a welder. Any money left over would go towards new door panels.

A grand isn't enough if you're gonna go for the required amount of coke and hookers.....

I'd start fixin' some of the damage done to my old cutlass that the damn tweeker who stole it caused.. Probably start with a header panel, and a straighten out the front fenders.. close up the mangled hole where the trunk lock was, and prime that stuff.. That's about a grand I think.. Then pony up some extra and knock the creases out of the doors and the quarters on both sides.. smooth out the roof seein' as they tore my vinyl top and the trim off.. (factory body work was crap).. and have that all primed...

    then save up for paint..

  20. The most wanted $1000 thing I'd buy??
Use it to send my wife to a spa or a small trip for herself.
She has winter cabin fever so bad this year.
She could enjoy herself away from here while I could lock myself out in the garage enjoying hot rod nirvana working uninterrupted on my projects at the same time

man, must be in the wording....i started a thread about "hot rod funds" IE the wife not knowing about this sort of rainy day type thing, and all i got were a bunch of pussies telling me that i shouldn't be hiding anything from my wife...

oh, to answer your specific question, i'd buy an intake, 94, header, V8 tranny and new tires for my 31 coupe.

    i don't know......probably a millermatic 211. That's right around 1K.

Seriously, i would put $1000 (or more) into Shaw group stocks. They are in nuclear plant construction. Despite the Japan disaster, i feel, reluctantly, that nuclear is going to remain stable if not grow.

I would make my brother a very happy camper and buy all the little things to get his '50 chevy business coupe fired up and on the road.

Almost a year to the day, and I'm still in the same situation, if I had a grand I'd order a set of '32 frame rails. :)

$1000 is the gas money to Bonneville and back and a class change. That would be nice not to have to sweat.
