I swapped a '65 nova wagon 5 lug, 10 bolt rear into my Dad's '62 nova convertible and it's fine behind a mild 327. It was a very easy, direct swap.

The stock rears in these cars are pretty weak, especially the drop-out 4 lugs but I'm sure somebody knows how to upgrade them?

What kind of V8 / HP are you talking about?

HAD that set up a few years back with a 327 -250 hp 4 speed never broke the rear, but never did any banzai launches or power shifts. just some aggressive driving. Not the strongest set-up by any means

The 3rd member is the same as all the drop outs from 55-64. So yes it can handle a lil V8 power.
