The FC wagon is Sean Kennedy's. Runs a 502 Chev, Lenco and an all steel body. If they ever get the thing to launch well it'll run deep into the 4s on the 1/8 mile track there.

The blue FED is Steven Wilson's and runs a screeming small block Chev. The thing's called "Blown Away" and took runner up in blown outlaws on the night with a string of high 4s. I complimented them on it and they told me that they'd only just finished the body, but been trying all along to replicate the "classic" FED look, rather than just a modern car with the engine in the wrong place.

Agreed about Jeff During, I know my dad has a few shots of his Mopar powered rail and the altered he ran for a while, might see if I can dig them up.

I didn't take these (a pro did), but here's some more shots from the event. You guys will like them I think.

Here is a shot of Jeff's slant six powered car from back in the day. This was taken at a test day at Mallala prior to the 68 Nats at Calder. The guy in the blue sweater to the right of the motor is Chris Tormay (Crane Technologies) and that is probably Tony Cooke leaning over the steering on the right.

I just dug a bit deeper into the archives and here is one of Jeff's double 273 powered car at an early AIR event. These motors were in the front motor car earlier on.

OK, now we are all the way back to the Brooksfield days. The blue car to this side of the #24 Fiat is Jeff's straight 8 Buick dragster. The Buick and the slant 6 powered cars both ran D/D which was a class for pre 63 six cylinder, flathead and straight 8 motors. At the time that I took this photo I was crewing on the Chris Marriott B/D in the foreground. I later crewed on (and eventually drove) Rex Brown's Zephyr powered D/D.

  24. Thank you Rooman-

I'm no racer, not that way inclined. I do, however appreciate design, engines, and those who do drive the hell outta their race cars. That's Jeff During- his engines sounded like whips cracking, and he's was (is?) one pedaltothemetal dude, with a big win record/ ratio.
