You got to love a customer that likes to work backwards. I had a 54 F-100 customer that way too. One thing leads to another. BTW, the wiring in that car and this 54 i did must have been done by the same guy! What a mess...

    1. Ok the final product after final assembly
After driving the car this thing was a handful to drive!!! after tacking some measurements we found the front end was welded on 1 1/2 inches out of square!
( we did not take the body off per customer request) so back to the drawing board we went the front stub (nova) out of square and the leaf springs etc. (nova)
were too long for the frame and were at the wrong angle and caused the suspension to be nonexistant we fist cut the old stub off and started with 2x4 tube for our own stub and a MII for the crossmember.
    2. here is 3 pics of the old stub after we cut it off

    1. The driver's side
    2. Passenger side you can tell the distance between the walls it was off when we measured from firewall to a location on the old stub it was out 1 1/2
    3. The new stub extensions all tacked into place.
Dad used his CAD program to get the correct angles and such and made a template to use to get them dead nuts...
    4. Shot of the drivers side and it was welded in and also boxed for stiffness..
    5. This was a relief area that we cut out to clear the coilovers
    6. All smoothed out and top hat welded in..
    7. Shot of top hat and member welded up

In this pic you may notice the extra braces in to prevent the crossmember from rolling or twisting under hard braking..

The lower dash panel was hand fabbed by me as well as the "turning"
if anyone notices it has a 41 ford steering wheel and a late model chevy column..went through hell getting it to work

This was a shot of the custom pedals i fabbed and drilled for him

And finally a radiator cover i also made and "turned"
