    I don't think I took a single photo of it, but when I put mine back together I just welded in pieces of 18-gauge to fill all the gaps so that the roof rail was solid to the inner quarter. I was scared shit that it would crack or break loose later if I didn't tie it all together.
    Actually, you can still see it in my car if you pull the garnish molding off because I have no interior. I didn't shorten the molding along the bottom, I just moved the upper part (the sweep) forward. If I ever get a headliner installed it'll all look pretty much factory, but the garnish molding is what covers over that transition in my case so I went for strong rather than pretty.

    I just bend it through a little hole in the welding table, then smooth it out with a hammer over a dolly.

    Keep in mind this is just a super rough mock up, none of this is set in stone...
