Hello. I am looking at buying a project with a '32 Brookville frame included (under an original Ford body). What are your experiences with the Brookville frame? Quality? Accurate dimensions? Fitting of body to frame? I would run a dropped I beam with radius rods and ______-rear end with ladder bars. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks!
Just finished doin this 1. Customer supplied me with a complete roller. Seen better seen worse. The side rails look like they had been beat on with a 10 lb hammer in areas. Lotsa hour to straighten up up to paint Black. Good luk guys Hope ya get better than my custome did.
The frame is not stamped but fabricated from 4 strips. The two outside edges are therefore not as nicely rounded as on a stamped frame. They are fully boxed and very strong, but if you want an authentic look you want to use some repop rails.
I just bought a frame for my 30 highboy... it's well built but does not look like a 32 frame!!! As stated the edges are too sharp, nice frame if you want to build a "street rod"
Thanks for the comments, guys. Anyone else use it with a highboy? PS - LowA100: Love EVERYTHING about your roadster!!! Perfect!
I have a friend who bought one ... ( 1932 ) After he got it ( 6 weeks wait ) ... he ordered a frame from somewhere else and started over. He did not like the Brookville frame. It was rough ... and not made in one piece like Henry's were. ( like the ones in the photo ) HIS 32 Brookville body did not fit the 32 Brookville chassis very well. The second 32 chassis ... actually fit the Brookville 32 body pretty well. He took the Brookville 32 frame to Charlotte AutoFair and sold it at a $350 LOSS ... Some guy was going to try and modify it and put a 29 Ford sedan on it ... it was going to be a RODENT ROD
Deuce Roadster, Thanks for the comments. I appreciate your experience. I'll have to really look closely at the frame and how the body sits on it before I do the deal.
