Ever since I bought my '62 Merc Monterey I thought the tailights would look great on a custom or rod. I have only seen it once on a '51 or so Chevy custom.
The '36 Chrysler and DeSoto lites pictured above are going for as much as $400-$500 a pair these days. Keep it simple, '39 Pontiac, '38 Ford, etc.
I dig mine... 39 chevy lens, 65 Galaxie reverse chrome, custom buckets. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=225378
I've been thinking about this for a while. I think some taillights from a '58-'60 corvette mounted on top of the quarters would be great on a coupe/roadster. If were talking custom....then ya cant go wrong with these VVV Top is '56 Packard Clipper Bottom is '53 Desoto Both could be bitchin' if done properly
'42-'48 Ford, bezels & lenses; without the fender nacelle. On a highboy mount 'em vertically, very tasty ovals. Simplicity plus. Look real nice with a California black plate between 'em...
Cobbled together from bits of Chevy Impala, 59 caddy and aftermarket dots. I couldn't find any stock taillights that would suit, so like some of the guys on here have suggested I went the individual route. I like the idea no one else has got them. Of course, whether anyone else would want them is another matter. Paul
Yeah, i know, old thread... But i always thought 49/50 ford taillights are real cool on a 32. And to whoever said it, i actually have harley tombstones on my 32 hi boy tudor sedan!
'59 Bonneville. Borrowing an image from here: http://stylishkustoms.blogspot.com/2011/03/1959-pontiac-bonneville.html
Has anyone tried late 30s-early 40s round Willys tail lights on their early Fords? The bezels look the same as the popular Poncho items, but the lenses are cut at an interesting angle which, if your rod or it's tail lights are very low to the ground, might appear brighter to folks in much higher vehicles behind you. Just a thought. Gary
Can't believe this thread has been around for all these years and nobody has posted a set of these???
