Is it just me who finds it strange that the school in the lead since the beginning is almost exactly the same number of votes ahead as it has been the entire time?

2nd place still gets a sizable chunk of change too.

I voted!
The district I live in built a new high school about 10 years ago. They gave the auto shop teacher an early retirement, and announced they didn't have enough interest in the classes to build an auto shop in the new school. So we filled the auditorium with kids that wanted to be a part of it, and they still ignored us. We already had a 5 or 6 bay shop at the old school we could have moved the lifts and tools from.
Instead, we got 2 gymnasiums, 3 soccer fields, 2 football fields, a field house, and a plethora of other useless bullshit. Nobody really seems to know where the tools and lifts from the old shop went to either...

 

Just voted and wanted to bump this. Come on guys, help these kids out!

Apparently the days of corporations/local dealers donating their new/used/slightly damaged wares to area schools is a lost art - it seems they'd rather donate new stuff to TV shows/TV host with huge budgets.

My high school (Burnsville High in Minnesota) used get freight damaged vehicles donated to our auto shops, and our teachers made it part of their summer to go out and solicit donations/sponsorships from local shops and businesses

(Wonder what the shows do with that new stuff when their shows get taken off the air?)

 

Done! That's really cool. Wish there was a way we could be certain that ALL high school students could have the option to take a shop class! They are already a step above most kids. Hope they win!
