    The kegger parties!
We had an area of woods in my area where there might be 4-5 different parties going at the same time on Fri-Sat night.
Don't like the beer at one, stumble over to another.
Cops would just swing through to make their presence known and then leave. ;)

Now that area is a housing development.

the first order of business for a rod run was who is picking up the keg? By-laws? now forbid that. rule one for the club was, there will be no rules, now 21 pages of rules.
    Life was simpler then.
white walls were on low riders, ahooga horn was a must, cb for comms during rod runs.

Yeah the interior will have to do for now, a bit surprisingly there's no odor, really in good shape, i'll get it shampooed and be good to go for a while before that comes exhaust, driveline, brake booster/assembly, fuel tank, torque converter... those are the biggies

  19. Where I grew up, the hot cars were muscle cars. I grew up in the downriver part of Mi. just outside of Detroit. I had a 1967 Mustang Fastback with a 390 cu.in. and a three spd trans. There were lots of Chevys, Mopars and even AMC cars all looking to street racer at the drop of a hat. I surprised a lot of cars because they all thought I had a 289 in the Mustang. The only tags on the car was the horse with the engine cu.in. on the fender and nobody looked.

Orange metalflake dunebuggies that said "FOX HUNT" on the side , blasting Cat scratch fever on the way to Val surf to get a pooka shell necklace , wearing white bell bottom painters pants with "Aerosmith" "YES" and "Ted Nugent " multi color iron on patches . Bruce Lee posters , pinball , Lightning bolt and OP cord shorts . That was my older next door neighbor Albert , the " Ladie's man " , man.

Oh yea. By the early eighties, it seemed like there were more vegas running small-blocks than there were with 4 bangers! Was that yours Larry?

    George,
Yep, it was mine. Pretty good story goes with the car. It's the second one Don Hardy put together when he started selling the kits/cars, he took it to the SEMA show to display in his booth. He had a good friend who lived in Vernon (Floydada is down the road a piece) who bought the car from him and I got the car off Rob. I sold it when I got my Anglia and the guy I sold it too ran it into the ground. Ended up in a salvage yard, wasn't wrecked just beat to death.
Here's a picture of it at the track, before I cut the bumper and pulled the spoiler (long story).
