Maybe that's why he ran the Park from 1977 to 1978... Didn't he and Bob Stefanik win the Riverside 500 in 77 or was it 78? I'm hoping someone has some pictures from the Riverside 500's in the late 70's. Teams like Polverari/Flemke, Stefanik/Bodine, Evans/Ruggiero, Polverari/Wycoff, Fiandaca/Anderson, Polverari/Cook, Stefanik/Glazier, Jack Cirillo/O'Sullivan...

That's cool, could be a late model from the late seventies.......or a street stock from last week. :)

We'll let him pass for the car behind it lol :)

  8. I'm betting it's a late model from years ago. With the cost of liability these days you won't see a white wooden fence anymore. Mike

  9. Catch that thought. Didn't notice the van in the background, my bad.....

Cars like that still run around here in a class called "Sportsman" or "Limited Late Model".

They're pretty fast, especially for having to carry that heavy steel body around.

Typically they run a fuzz slower than the IMCA/UMP/ASA modifieds that dominated the Saturday night tracks (car count wise) even though the Sportsman cars run the 14" Late Model tires. The IMCA Modifieds have to run those rock hard IMCA tires, but they're a lot lighter.

25 or 30 years ago, those Camaros would have been Late Models (just before they sprouted side boards and the big wedge noses).

  12. Back to Modifieds lol

in #9133 Ed Delmolino in Gorden Ross's 19 with the Old driver Doug Garrision in the 19 he bought when he left the team.
I think the Big guy in the Background is ( He might have retired now) the President of Wrigen America an a young man he worked on Ross's cars ,which lead to the companys motorsports program.

Teams like Mark & Karl Kinser of the WoO, even Bobbie SantosIII was Helped by him.

Not sure if this worked but hopefully this post has a shot of our 1961 car that ran at Five Mile Point in Kirkwood. If this worked, I'll try to post some more.

What kind of hood was ya'll using on this car? It looks good, especially with the cut on the front.

I believe it was a '41 Willys hood. not sure. holes cut in front for air intake. body was '34 Ford 3w coupe. I'll post more pics a little later. It was a pretty car. I replicated it and ran with a vintage club here in NY

On post 9043 there is a pavement modified from the 80's?. I noticed the left front is treaded and the other tires are slicks.

What was this about? A rule or some handling trick?

Thanks for all the Danbury pictures. I had a dream the other night that the track was still there, unused behind the mall. I was trying to find someone to open it up again. Then I woke up.
