Finally driveable and presentable

    Got the '48 on the road and in primer. still have quite a few odds and ends to do but hey... had to get driving it! Drives really well. Love the T5.

    Yes the T5 bolted directly to the 216, New driveshaft and rear end. Still do not have shocks but rides ok. Tires rub the control arms a bit but I am going to set them in a bit with longer bolts and washers.

    Thinkng about a service station logo on the sides. Here is a mock-up with a sign, Also added some wood to the bed sides

    Nice lookin' truck. The wheels seem to match up well, though the fronts are original 6-bolt, and the rears are 5. What wheels are they?

    Ya got me thinkin' about a T5 and later rear-end behind the 261 for my '53 AD.

    I got a T-5 in my 51 AD and love it.I like the color combo by the way.

    The rear is a GM 10 bolt, while the fronts are still stock. I have not changed them out yet. Will either find car drums, or wait until adding 5 bolt disc brakes.

    I think I need to check out this T5 hype one of these days. Nice ride! I need to get a pickup one of these days. Do you have anymore pics?

    Turn 300 miles today taking a seat to Greyhound, bound for CA (fellow Hamber). My god, this is cool driving. Already had 2 people ask if it was for sale! That will give you a big head!
