A new re-mastered copy of American Graffiti has been delivered to Australia and will make it's way around the country to screen at Drive-ins. The Dromana Drive-in in Victoria was the first to screen it (I believe). The organisers did a great job in replicating the Ol Skhool Drive-in era starting off with some period Cartoons and News Reels. What was a glorious sunny afternoon turned to shit just as the main feature started. It started to rain and didn't let up all throughout the film.... what a Shitter. There were very few Hamb friendly Rods but plenty of Big American Iron.... Here is a selection of the cars that were there.<O I was hoping to get some Arty pics whilst AG was playing, but my camera and rain do not make for a good mix. <OIf anyone has more pics they’d like to ad, go right ahead. <O
Oz, thanx for the pics! My brother lived in Australia for 3 years and he shared with me how big the american car love affair was. Neat to see all those classics!!
wow...you guys have a really cool thing going on over there. I really want to bring back a drive-in to the town i live in. thanks for posting the pics.
shit, i knew itd be a big turn out! ive been laid up sick for the past week or so and havent done much of anything. if it makes its way to coburg, ill be there.
Those shots of the drive-in full of hotrods are cool..... wish there was still a drive in around here.....
Very nice collection of cars. Stiil looks like a good time despite the rain. I would like to see some pics with the movie playing in the background.
These are some great photo's. And I can't think of better place to have a car show, than a drive in! Really Nice!
Now I know where all of our old iron is going. If our guys keep selling our classic cars to you guys in Austalia, New Zealand and Sweden I am going to have to move there. I'll have to check out what land and houses are going for. Drive in Looked like a good time and thanks for sharing. Cob
Nice pics JT - looks like a good turnout !! Had my sis` 40th so it was a no show for me. And you're right - it was a killer day /arvo only to watch it turn to shit late in the day, what a shame. Not many rods there by the look of it ? Rat
You can get a Better look of it on this thread..... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=553292
