Just saw on the Detroit t.v. news that a couple cars were damaged at Cobo Hall today and one person was taken to the hospital. One of the cars was the General Lee from Dukes of Hazzard. Anyone hear anything else?

Apparently someone lost control of an S10 drag truck and hit the movie car display.

John Jackson (non-stock photography) had pics of the damaged car on facebook... said the s-10 lost control...

  12. Hope No people were hurt too badly.

Not to be trivial but the Ghostbusters hearse looks like a late model back there and not a '59 Superior like the ones used in the movies.

The News must have been slow today in Detroit if they had to go to Autorama to find a story.I'll bet they don't do any stories on how great the show is for some possible weekend entertainment.Journalism at it's best, pretty sad anymore.Good Work MATT.

  14. Yup, Daisy's fine.
The real one that is. dunno bout the blonde imposter, where did she come from?
The car wouldnt have suffered any damage if the REAL Daisy was about. lol :D

Mel Gutherie, 51, of Northville shows off his Monkeemobile. It started as a GTO convertible, he says, and is one of two built for the 1960s TV show "The Monkees."

And what about human Hollywood stars? Billy Bretherton from A&E's "Billy the Exterminator," Sammi (Sweetheart) Giancola from "Jersey Shore," Debby Ryan from the Disney Channel's "The Suite Life on Deck" and Johnathan Hillstrand from the Discovery Channel's "Deadliest Catch" are among those scheduled to be there.

  16. The General Lee...which one? I saw a show recently that said it's believed they consumed as many as 300 of those cars during the show's run.

I like the chunk of bondo laying on the ground must be one of the southern Ontario Dukes

  21. You mess with Daisy and you're messing with the whole trailer park!!!

And, yes, Catherine Bach is the only real Daisy, just like Sean Connery is the only real Bond, James Bond.

They can still leave it in the show. Looks more authentic now.

Also, why the hell is some piece of crap S10 in this car show? No restrictions?

At least it didn't hit a hot rod. From the looks of it Maaco will slather that charger and spritz a bit more orange at it and no one will be the wiser, just like the previous job, hell you may be able to stick those chunks back on, got any wood glue?

Never fear Autorama patrons, a replacement General Lee is on its way to Detroit as we speak.

After surviving all those jumps for all those years unscathed, and it gets damaged in a car show...unbelievable.
