Everything is lookin' great but I'd seriously reconsider the front tires. Bike tires usually don't carry much of a load rating and ARE NOT designed to handle the side loads that they will be subjected to. Would hate to see an "after" picture of the accident when one or both fail. Something to think about.

i read up on it for days on here before i bought them to be sure. everyone says there fine.(do a search youll see) tons guys did it back in the 40s and 50s with no problem. this car is a model A frame and fiberglass body and a shortened bed. the entire car cant weigh more than a full dressed harley up front! ill be lucky if its 1500 pounds entirely.

this car from the yakkity yaks? sold me on them.

got the driveshaft finished! dons auto in kenosha made it up for me. mounted the tires on the rims last night with the side valve tubes. couple tire irons, baby powder on the tube, and some soapy water: was good to go! i cant wait to get an engine block and build the engine, so i can clean up the frame and put it together!

yeah, we will see it will be perfectly fine! sheesh tires are rated at 750 pounds each thats 1500 pounds. so unless i get the car up on just one tire, its going to be just fine.

The problem is side loads in a turn that they're NOT designed to handle. How 'bout pulling your head out of your "alternete point of contact" before you get yourself or someone else killed!

Wow, does this mean ,if I had a Harley trike,I need to put car ties on it, because the tires will act like car tires.

    I don't think so.

  24. I run my Morgan style FWD on WW Avon Gangsters meant for a Harley. I have no end of people telling me that the walls will collapse and the treads will shear off etc etc. I've done 60,000 miles on these type of tires with no problems of any sort - no strange wear patterns or splits.

so as far as the distributor, im thinking of making a bracket out of 1/8th steel that goes under two head bolts and falls down in front of the head then a plate same thickness as the original head bolt surface. i also thought maybe making a clamp like thing like the offy timing covers that they sell for this conversion. thoughts?

At the risk of getting flamed...I actually like the "before" stance better.

Though I would agree that the frame looks a little scarey, I'm not really sure you are making any great strides with a stock model A frame.

not making any strides? HAH are you kidding it just took off like the god damn space shuttle compared to before. its an early 50s style build, thats what they would have done. i dont like that low and long rat rod look.
