http://www.rodandcustomcarshow.com/ anyone heading over to the tiny show there next weekend? I am hoping someone can drop off some flyers at that show since I will be in Minneapolis- I cant be at both places at the same time............
Sorry man, but I can think of a ton of stuff to do with 9 bucks other than get into that rat trap. Its so damn small and crowded in there you cant even look at the cars! Brad
$9? This show can't be bigger than the Rock Island/Quad Cities show is it? That one is even less than that.
I have heard it is a tiny show......in fact - they have no vendors - that is why the cost of admission is so high - vendors offset the costs of the show.........since they dont have vendors (at least that is what Muller told me when I asked if I could set up there) they have to raise the price of admission
I have shown in that show a few times and if i remember right they only get about 45 cars in there with some bikes in another small room. It's a nice bunch of people that put it on but not very much to do in that small town.
No, the Fonz was definitely not in character at Milwaukee. We are bringing the car in my avatar pic to the Monticello show from Milwaukee.
For you guys stuck in town over the weekend: I have a cousin north of town that has some neat old stuff (vintage stock car, some flatheads, etc..). It's neat stuff to see and he does sell a little (a lot of his stuff is rough). If you send me a PM I'll give out his contact info. Another cousin has a nice 3rd gen family restaurant called Darrell's. Good place to eat. Check out McNeil hardware on 1st street. It's very cool inside and out (it has a tower on the corner of the building). In Dyersville (about 20 miles north) there is the actual "Field of dreams", the national farm museum and Evers toy store (great selection of diecast and model cars). Enjoy. Carmak
....I was there about 10 years ago.....they had about 40 cars....the building was'nt very big....look like a old gym.....it was small , but the people that put it on....were really friendly and nice.....I would go back again.....Iowa has some great hotrodders...
