buddy of mine is buying an old beater to use as a daily driver and the bumpers are nasty. he is lookin for a cheap place in houston to get them re chromed. He doesnt care if its a high shine or even last for more than a year, he just want his bling and wants it now.
Buying cheap chrome is like buying cheap condoms, it will work for the time being but is it really worth it in the end?
Speed and sport is no where near cheap not even in the ballpark lol but the work is good if your looking for decent work and good prices try looking up "Auto chrome" off broadway
ill check out speed and sport for my lincoln, and auto chrome for my buddys. Im going to mexico in a few weeks and im going to check out a few places and see the quality.
I just got Superior to chrome my garnish moldings and he beat 3 other shops prices and sure look good.
man, if its his beater the chrome would probably cost more than the car even Mexico prices... couple of bumpers cost around $5-600 to rechrome for the pair good prices on triple plate.. (ill be paying $575 a pair for my 63 impala bumpers for example) couple shops down there do "street chrome" which is a shity process taht goes bad after a couple years and costs about 2/3 the cost of the real thing.. id say sandblast em and powdercoat "chrome" em ... ps - im not buyin this "friend" thing, nor am i buying that he doesnt care if it doesnt last a year...
No seriously, he has an 80's model F-150. He loves those things. He doesnt think its a beater but i do. Ill let him know about the prices.
Try A-1 chrome plating on Braniff street behind Hoby airport. I used them a long time ago and they did a good job and at the time was the cheapest price I found.
cheap and chrome don`t go together, even the reputable shops suck, lost a set a of bumpers and some misc trim to one once
Yeah I would say getting an aftermarket replacement would be cheaper and probably better than getting one rechromed as cheaply as you can find.
