buddy of mine is buying an old beater to use as a daily driver and the bumpers are nasty. he is lookin for a cheap place in houston to get them re chromed. He doesnt care if its a high shine or even last for more than a year, he just want his bling and wants it now.

  2. Superior Chrome in Houston does a good job for a fair price. Bumpers in 3-5 days.

  5. Buying cheap chrome is like buying cheap condoms, it will work for the time being but is it really worth it in the end?

man, if its his beater the chrome would probably cost more than the car even Mexico prices... couple of bumpers cost around $5-600 to rechrome for the pair good prices on triple plate.. (ill be paying $575 a pair for my 63 impala bumpers for example)

couple shops down there do "street chrome" which is a shity process taht goes bad after a couple years and costs about 2/3 the cost of the real thing..

id say sandblast em and powdercoat "chrome" em ...

ps - im not buyin this "friend" thing, nor am i buying that he doesnt care if it doesnt last a year...

Try A-1 chrome plating on Braniff street behind Hoby airport. I used them a long time ago and they did a good job and at the time was the cheapest price I found.

Yep, cheap bumpers form LMC run about $150 and "premium" bumpers go for around $200.

Yeah I would say getting an aftermarket replacement would be cheaper and probably better than getting one rechromed as cheaply as you can find.
