What is the Best Lite Blue Color??????

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by dimebag, Feb 17, 2011.

  1. My avatar '51 Ford is painted ppg Big Band Blue. It is essentially a fridge white with a tiny bit of pure blue pigment. No red or green in it.

B5 is metallic and darker than petty blue, was on my Duster when it left the factory. Put me down as another guy who never liked petty blue.

I've always been a fan of turquoise colored cars. One of my favorites is Ford's "Peacock Blue" from 1956...

I personally like light blues that are a little darker than a real light blue but a bit lighter than a dark blue kinda in between a dark blue and a light blue like maybe a medium blue or even red

Personally, I always liked a nice Second Generation McTavis plaid. Mostly blue. Unfortunately, you have to find a way to stir, or shake, without making the lines become wavy. VERY difficult to spray. You cannot shake.
Why are you asking others for what THEY like? It's YOUR car.

I know a few nice shades of light blue in spray cans from Home Depot and Wal Mart. Here's a photo of my Olds I did in "Spa Blue" spray bombs fogged with "Brilliant Blue" edges:

Im also keen on a light blue for my Shoebox. Need to be quite selective on the Blue though, otherwise it can look abit streetrod.Id say go stay on the lighter side to be safe. Im steering towards an eggshell blue. I will try to find a decent pic.
