I've always dug the old tin cars but they've always been out of my price range. I have a few rubber cars and some promos that were my dads but nothing like I found yesterday. I was helping my mom go through an attic of an old house she and her husband are about to tear down and found these little nuggets buried under raccoon feces and snake skins. I still have to clean them up, but it was a great find and free treasure.
This is a really, really cool thread - lots of great old hot rod toys. I have posted some photos of my own rare tether race cars and hot rods on another HAMB thread. Search the 'vintage tether cars' thread to view some amazing stuff......................... and if you find my cars please let me know if you like them. It's always good to get some feedback from the good people of Hambville!! There's one of those at my local Antique Mall for like $25. PM me if you want me to grab it and ship it to you.
A photo of some of my vintage tether car collection - still hot rod toys - only powered!!! Let me know what ya think. Check out more on the 'vintage tether car' thread her on HAMB.
Around 1957 I was helping my Dad dig out some ground to pour a patio. I dug this up. Cast iron, C cab, stake bed, chain drive. Pretty crude but I couldn't throw it away. [/IMG]
Here is some pics of my stash. Some built and some un-built. Mostly 1:24/1:25 plastic mixed with a few 1:18 diecast. Many of the built models are restored originals from the late 50's-late 60's. Carmak
