Older style but very sharp black 1940 Desoto coupe. I took these pictures last weekend at the NSRA Nats in Louisville. I'd drive it!

Yep, it still has the original 291. I've put that engine through holy hell and it still runs like champ. I drove it from Indy to Vegas, then to California and back to Indy last March, It just turnned 100,000 miles on that trip without any breakdowns or problems, and it was before I did the tranny swap. I love it.

  5. Wow that mordor is friggin sweet!!

I might consider a 4dr now that I seen what you've doen with one!!

How was the Hemi swap? Any problems? I have a 331 Hemi extended bell that I hope to use.

The swap went well. Took off fenders, slipped right in after a couple of knotches cut in sheet metal only, but not even noticeable, even if you are looking for it. Its hooked to a SB 727TF with an adaptor from Hot Heads. Did not have to touch firewall, or radiator support. The space is full, but it fits great.
Thank You for the kind words.

  16. Found this on the other side of town Friday. Seems to have no rust and the patina is outstanding! Its a '41 DeSoto Custom coupe. I'm after the original trailer. The coupe is for sale but I have not heard a price yet.

Could not believe it, but my mordor 48 DeSoto made the April 2011 issue of Street Rodder magazine. Picture was taken at 2010 Charlotte GoodGuys. Also in same issue my buddy's '49 Merc.

Heres my 56 Firedome. Its got the original 330 Hemi, and push button auto. I drive it daily. I originaly snagged it to put the drivetrain in my T-bucket, but I fell in love with the car:).I did all the work myself from getting it reliable, to body, paint, and Tj tweed interior.

Nice choice for the wheels "56Firedome" :)

    Here is mine...
`60 Fireflite bought from the Ohio H.A.M.B.er Dec. 2007. Long winters are for modifications and short summers for the cruising. Have seen the road ~13 000 miles since arrived to Finland. This summer she`ll be cruising even lower, no bags but 2" drop spindles on the way and 2.5" lowering blocks on the rear...

Sweet ride! Love those fins. Where did you order dropped spndles from? I would like to drop the front of mine about two inches or so. Ive got three inch blocks in the rear. Thats as low as I can go without floor tunnel modifications.

I ordered the drop spindles from Magnum Force inc. (item no MFR 192000).
This is 2" drop spindle for `73 up Mopars. I haven`t received the spindles yet so can`t tell how much fabrication is needed to fit those but I´m going for the disc brake conversion at the same time. Disc brake parts are mostly from A-body (76-78).
