Found this on CL 10 mins from my house, 58 Dodge Custom Royal D500, thought I'd leave the dirt on for effect, stuff's still out there. Been parked for nearly 20 years.

Cool. Don't change a thing. Leave the dirt on just the way it is.

Got Gas will be along shortly to drool over it :D
Who could blame him tho? Chrysler absolutely hit a home run with the forward look cars from 57-62.

Nice score... More pics please :)

361, single 4 barrel that was rebuilt about 1000 miles and 25 years ago. It was only listed for a day before I found it, hope to get it on the road by the summer depending.

    Wow! cool Exner era Mopar...............

So, what are your plans, sbc conversion, black primer paint job, perhaps some red wheels and a few spider webs painted on it?................Jus kidding, it's sad they didn't sell more Exner era Mopars. They were lightyears in engineering & design ahead of anything else Detroit sold back then!

Timing is everything. Great car! It never ceases to amaze me at the number of nice Forward Look cars that keep popping up in Washington and Oregon. I was lucky enough to score a '56 D-500 last spring that was parked in '61, but it looks pretty mundane compared to your '58. The level of detail on the FL cars can be stunning.

Custom Royals came standard with the one-year only 350, which was available in 2bbl or 4bbl, however the D-500 option should have bumped that up to a 361 4bbl.

Got more pics ? I'd like to see a shot of the louvered exhaust tips if your car still has them, and of course the interior.

  18. That is a sweet find! These don't just drop from trees like Tri-Five Chevies do. Definitely worth a full resto! Chrysler built a WCFB-equipped two-four bbl carb cast iron intake for these, that'll wake that 361 right up and be period-correct. I had one of those intakes for a long time, and sold it several years ago.
