if you are handy you can do it yourself but it does take some skill. buy good kits or if you know what you need shop for the parts. there are some excellent instructions available but i would need your email address to send them to you. if you are not comfortable doing it then there are several very good carb rebuilders on this site that will do it for you and you won't have to worry about it. just do the search on them. good luck.....

If you can't take them completely apart no sense in rebuilding them..You also need the right tools..

I disassembled a few of mine this weekend and gave them a nice long bath in an ultrasonic cleaner I bummed off my Dad. He uses them in his dental practice to clean his tools before he sterilizes them and he was nice enough to loan me his backup machine.

That ultrasonic cleaning is great to watch as it removes all the crud from the carb. Start off with nice clear warm water and when it is done, it is all cloudy and has grit in the bottom of the machine.

Replaced the gaskets and seals, carbs look great now.

Because of your location you might want someone a bit more local. I bought my tripower carbs from a mate who fully recoed them. Started the engine last Wednesday and they did not leak or need to be altered in any way - only ran it on the centre carb tho. If you're interested I can ask him if he will do them. Won't be cheap as he's a perfectionist and will not cut corners on anything. He also jetted mine to suit the tripower.

Having them set right will help it run right when it come to firing the engine for the first time. What is the going ballpark figure to rebuild one.

  13. There is a pretty good article in the newest issue of SR about Stromberg carbs and others.

Lawyers don't know how to rebuild a Stromberg the correct way..

  18. Make sure to use "Premium" Stromberg rebuild kits with the Gross Jet Fuel Inlet. Also, Uncle Max has some very cool custom parts that allow you to keep the choke plates open if your running 3 deuces.

They won't stay open as designed? Some of the 97s I was going to run have chokes?
