  1. Believe me, I've looked at every T coupe picture on the net. Read every story on the HAMB. I love them all. I really like the cartoon quality the tall ones have, but the chopped ones look so mean. I can't decide.

As of right now, it's a tie. Kind of interesting don't you think ?

what you could do is put the seat that your using in it and see how much head room you`d be happy with and if you can see traffic lights with a visor,if your putting one on.also account four the channel job.my pick up isn`t chopped and with the stance and visor lights aren`t easy to see if i`m first in line.chopping it`s ok but like said early the roof should have some kind of form and not flat.

  3. This really adds to the cartoon look.

Chop it enough so your entire head sticks above the top & your oozing lime green shifter knob sticks out above the top of car. Then Z the frame so much that 3/4 of the rear tire diameter is above the belt line.
Yea- that's it- just like back in the day. ;)

I chopped a coupe for a customer that initially wanted a 10" chop. I studied several pictures of chopped coupes and discussed proportions with him and chopped it 8", narrowed the windsheild header 2" (a must) and took only 4" out of the rear window. Perfect proportions without a squashed look. Told him we can always take more out, he loved it.
The best part is I took money and a nice 27 coupe body, doors and decklid as payment, so I'll be chopping another one for future project.

This is the sort of stance I was thinking about, angled channel? if such a term exists, keep the roof stock or a fairly small angled chop no more than a couple of inches, this is what I mean cool look and useable for a taller guy.

I get many many more people come up to me and say "glad you didn't chop it and make a mail slot out of it", than those that come up and tell me I should have chopped it. I agree with Mr. Cheater I didn't chop mine but is a bitch to see out of.

Drive it for a while then chop it if that's what you want. I've gotten a LOT of "dude chop it" with the '28 - but with a 6" channel I have pretty much settled into no chop. It's comfortable for now.

I chopped mine 12.5 inches. And removed the header and put a 1x1 tubing in it's place. I love it but I can't see past the blower!

it's really hard (in my opinion) to make a chopped T look right. a deep channel and no chop will get you the look of "60's show" car you're after, plus i think it will look better in general. there's something about the boxy square lines of those cars that just don't lend themselves to heavy chops (in my opinion).

  23. How tall are ya. I mean if your as tall as Wilt Chamberlin chopping is probably not in your best interest on the otherhand if you are as short as Mickey Rooney perhaps chopping and channeling are your best bet.

Ah what the hell chop it to the max its not my car.

Chop it with a little attitude. !inch lower in the front then the back. You said your tall mock a seat in it to see how much you can safely take out.

Jalopy Kid - WOW WOW WOW! Do you drive it?

  26. Badfun, yes a little shape to the roof makes all the difference.

    Pork'n'Beaner, I'm 6'2"

I'm surprised how many voted for no chop. I figured this was the chop the hell out of it crowd.

    Keep voting !!!

i think you should note that although the "No chop!" option has the most votes if you add it up its 61 against and 92 FOR chopping ...time to start chopping.
